It's my second time in Mindoro. The last time I visited the place was about two years ago though we only explored the oriental side of the island. To be honest, I wasn't impressed as I only saw bananas on my way. This Holy Week, we head to the occidental part and see its beauty. My cousin invited us to visit Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, to experience their island resort. I am not joking when I say that the place was absolutely breathtaking. Because we're coming from Bacolod, we have to endure a long trip by land and sea. Our travel goes this way:
Despite that, having all of these beautiful views, it was all worth it. The place is totally one of the best spots to go diving or snorkeling. We only went snorkeling, yet I get to see pawikans (sea turtles), stingrays, and other fishes. The best thing is that you don't need to ride a boat just to arrive at the diving place. In my experience, I only swam from the shore. Update: We came back to Sablayan, and we finally went diving! Being my first diving experience, everything went smoothly. Our instructors taught us the introduction to diving. After putting on our gears, the boat took us to the middle of the sea to start our dive. If you want to have a short break from the busy city life, this place is for you. It's the tranquil provincial life that reminds us of simplicity and contentment. We had a fantastic 3-day trip here; it's always a pleasure to come back. Note: This post is undergoing minor edits from time-to-time. Please bear with us. Thank you.
