It feels surreal stepping on the land of kimchi, K-pop, K-dramas, and skincare. It's been my dream ever since to visit Seoul. The Hallyu wave is going strong, that I've been swept by it too. There is more to Korea, though. Seeing their different palaces, museums, and other cultural and heritage sites, it is truly remarkable how they managed to preserve their rich and diverse culture and incorporate it seamlessly with modern structures. We booked our tour through a travel agency in Manila which our relatives and some family friends recommended. It's pretty much hassle-free because everything's basically arranged for us (especially with our visa). The only downside is that they loved bringing us into the amethyst factory, ginseng, red pine tree shops, and the like, which could really be expensive. The first two days in Seoul were the worst. Seoul was literary a huge fridge, and we were freezing inside it. We were not informed about the 3-degree weather. I was really expecting cool and not freezing weather since it's already spring and April. The result: we didn't have decent pictures. With only three hours of sleep, we were ready to brave the cold weather the next day. The places we just visited were lovely. It makes me want to come back to Korea again. Even though the weather wasn't cooperating, we enjoyed it, and we learned from our faults (mental note: bring coats next time). Everland is the place to go, whether you're young, old, or just young at heart. It's a place for both children and titas (hahaha!). I mean, my mom loves the flowers there. The entire site is literally a garden! There were stores where you could shop (LINE Friends, Puma, and Monami, to name a few). Their souvenirs and merch were super aegyo (just Koreans and cute things). The place looks like straight out of a children's book (similar to Petit France). Also, I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes (and thick clothes on cold days) because the amusement park is literally on the mountain. Some areas are uphill, so you might want to ride the chairlift. I haven't bought albums and merch in Seoul, but I had a great time there on the brighter side. Have you visited Seoul already? How was your experience? If not, what are you looking forward to? Let me know! Note: This post is undergoing minor edits from time-to-time. Please bear with us. Thank you.
