你好!我回来了~ Welcome to my first post on my food category. I have been a fan of good food ever since, growing up in a family of good cooks. While I am not a picky eater, I always know how to appreciate and distinguish good food.
Taiwanese cuisine is part of the diverse spectrum of Chinese food. We find Taiwanese cuisine with light flavors, unlike the Chinese food we're used to in the Philippines. Their food is not bland, rather something you want to try as an introduction to more Chinese food flavors. Taiwanese food is different and unique from typical Chinese food. In this post, I am sharing with you my favorite restaurants/ food in Taipei.

We’ve always been spontaneous people! Most of our family trips are planned either: (1) late at night then travel the next day/ week or (2) just setting a date and no planning process at all. Lol! That’s how we operate hahaha. Our Sipalay trip is pretty much a concrete example having more or less a month of preparation amidst the pandemic.
Since travel measures are stricter nowadays, we had to prepare our travel documents (certificate from the barangay, medical certificates, etc.), keep ourselves healthy and fit to travel, find a clean and private place to stay. Coming from Bacolod, travelling to Sipalay is an easy 4-hour drive (maybe as passengers, not sure about as a driver hahaha). Of course, we had a pit-stop along the way for C.R. breaks or snacks. When going south, we like to stop at Mila's for local delicacies (and maybe a quick use of the restroom). However, we buy takeouts and just eat on the way. We all know how risky it is to eat publicly. We didn't do much for this lazy trip actually. Our out of trips within the province are simple family get-togethers, eating fresh produce (seafood, anyone?), swimming, and boating. Here are some snaps from our sunset boat ride. The contents of this post were from my last trip to HK-Macau (December 21-29, 2019) before COVID took over *and the rest is history*. I am finally motivated and happy to share these memories with you. Every trip to Hong Kong would never be complete without visiting the "Las Vegas of Asia." That's also the reason why most travel itineraries are titled HK-Macau. After an hour of cross-boundary travel, underwater tunnels, and issues (lol!), we're finally here in this vibrant destination!
The contents of this post were from my last trip to HK-Macau (December 21-29, 2019) before COVID took over *and the rest is history*. I am finally motivated and happy to share these memories with you. December always means another destination, and this time we were back in Hong Kong for the holidays. Hong Kong holds a special meaning to me, for it was my first destination abroad. I can remember vividly how excited I was back then. We had our own share of funny mistakes back then, and it definitely taught us to be smart travelers. It's a funny story within our family. Hahaha!
Summer is here and I'm back— with another blog post. This time, I'm bound for Taiwan for the vacay season. I've heard a lot of good things about this country so I went to see it myself.
Any summer trip wouldn't be complete without having a trip to the beach. This time, we head somewhere near the Andaman Sea (or maybe the Indian Ocean). I guess you've read, yup, that's Phuket.
Unlike visiting Hongkong, Singapore, and Seoul, there is something about Bangkok that gives me the feel of visiting Manila. I know it's only my first time visiting this place, yet the city's resemblance is very familiar and much like the Philippines (traffic and more).
It feels surreal stepping on the land of kimchi, K-pop, K-dramas, and skincare. It's been my dream ever since to visit Seoul. The Hallyu wave is going strong, that I've been swept by it too.
There is more to Korea, though. Seeing their different palaces, museums, and other cultural and heritage sites, it is truly remarkable how they managed to preserve their rich and diverse culture and incorporate it seamlessly with modern structures. It's my second time in Mindoro. The last time I visited the place was about two years ago though we only explored the oriental side of the island. To be honest, I wasn't impressed as I only saw bananas on my way. This Holy Week, we head to the occidental part and see its beauty.
My cousin invited us to visit Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, to experience their island resort. I am not joking when I say that the place was absolutely breathtaking. |
